THOMAS INTERNATIONAL SYSTEM
(A tool for effective people management)
Having briefly introduced the Thomas International System to you I want to delve a little deeper into the workings of these systems.
The fist tool, and probably also the most widely used tool, which The Management Advantage Consultancy will introduce to Namibia on behalf of Thomas International, is the Personal Profile Analysis (PPA)
The PPA is a powerful work-place inventory and can be used in virtually every aspect of human relations within the work environment. It assesses the individual’s self image, work strengths, self motivation and comment on job emphasis, frustration and the ideal supervisor or manager. For the uninitiated out there, the PPA provides a profile – popularly known as the DISC profile - and the benefits for the user is, amongst others :

The second tool which The Management Advantage Consultancy is introducing on behalf of Thomas International to the Namibian market is the Test for Selection and Training (TST) which provides a system which is easy to use and interpret and applies, amongst others, to employees earmarked for promotion, potential bursary applicants, job applicants, etc.
The TST System assesses :

- Concentration level
- Speed and accuracy
- Number skills
- Deductive logic
- Mechanical and technical orientation
- Verbal reasoning
- Ability to retain information
- Literacy
- Mental visualization
The TST System allows for general or specific reports which are easy to understand, written in business language and aimed at line management. Whilst the TST System is not a clinical test, it is normative and has independently been validated over the last ten years.
